Gallery 1
The stained glass work presented here is made with combination of techniques and a variety of glass. Some of these windows are made with lead came and some are made with copper foil. Many of these windows are made with a combination of both lead and copper foil.
I found that by using both Techniques, I can best articulate a complex and layered pattern. I use the lead came to define the main structure of the pattern and I use the copper foil to define its intricate background or a weave that twists through the entire piece.

All of the windows in this collection are original designs. They are either individually designed and built to fit a particular space or they are window designs that were adapted from historic architectural ornament and patterns. The idea behind the adaptions is to study an ornamentation, whether it be in a wall carving, a floor mosaic, a painted ceiling design and create a series of windows that depicts its patterning. |

All of the pieces in the gallery use at least two or more types of locally manufactured glass. Many of the pieces use vintage glass that I have salvaged over the years. Though old glass has become difficult to find, the gorgeous colors or just the beautiful wave to vintage clear glass make it worth the effort to keep searching. Lately, I have begun to use transluscent and polished stones, such as agate and jade, and even natural crytals in my work. The possibilites are virtually unlimited.
