In fact, the variety, the quality, and the different construction techniques represent a historical and artistic phenomenon. It is interesting to note that, at the beginning of the 20th century, prices were decreasing as labor costs were increasing in the leaded glass industry. In addition, rivalries between American glass manufacturers existed as a serious issue and foreign competition was sharp. La Farge, Tiffany and other American artists shunned the beaten path in art window making. These pioneers produced leaded glass art, this most magical of artistic mediums, bringing joy to millions.
